June, 23 – Athens

We all woke up sleepy from the bar next to the boat playing music until 5am. Gino had a flight from Athens and we said farewell to him and got ready ourselves to go to Athens for the day. Took a bus to the large city and in about an hour we were there. Got a sandwiche and then went to the National Archeological Museum and spent some hours there.

History from thousands of years ago, cool stuff. Afterwards we walked around the “agora” (below the parthenon) and got greek-frappes. Since being here one year ago, the city has changed and it was very interesting to see the impact of the “economic crisis”.

We had a good time exploring the city and took the bus back to Laverion where Renato prepared risotto and we watched another soccer match (european cup) and again, the music has started thumping into the night, but if you can’t beat them, join them.
