First week with La Bum

A litle more than one week has passed since we left Rijeka in the north of Croatia with a new crew aboard, Luigi the owner of La Bum and an experiened skipper, accompained by his new recruits David from Sweden and Simone from Italy. The social atmosphere is good and together we enjoy the “tough life” exploring beautiful bayes, islands, fine sailing and a good mix of Italian and Swedish food.

So far we have already experienced all kinds of wind and weather. Mainly there has been clear skyes with none to moderate wind speeds good for relaxed sailing, but during the weekend we were stuck in a port on the island Pag because of strong Bora coming down from the mountains with a speed of up to 40 knots meassured in the protected marina. Simone and David took the opportunity to explore Pag and it’s small pitoresque villages on a rented scooter. After tryig out the night life in the city of Novalja they returning home in the night totally soaked after a ride through heavy rain fall and the horizon lit by thunder. Ofcourse they were all smiles and with the spirit on top.

Tonight the crew will be extended to it’s maximum of five people when Dominic and Clara are picked up in Zadar. Tomorrow we procede south as not to get stuck in the next Bora coming in a few days.

That’s it for this time,

Ciao!
